This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hardworking, dedicated AP Biology students from a wide range of backgrounds. For some this is the only AP class they will take in high school before becoming the first college student in their family. They are passionate about experiencing science first hand.

My Project

Help facilitate more students being able to use the micro-pipettor. At the moment a class of 30 has to share 2, this slows down labs and limit how many students are able to experience using one.

Help improve college readiness, by providing students this hands-on experience while still in high school.

These tools allow students to experience labs such as bacterial transformation and electrophoresis. In the increasingly technical world of biological research having these experiences before entering college will give my students advantages in lab work by providing the confidence they need to succeed.
