I teach at an advanced school for high achieving students. All students are working at least one grade level above their actual age. Our students are a melting pot of nationalities, religions, and economic levels, but they all share a love of being challenged and learning new things.
Excitingly, the students challenge me, as a teacher, to continuously deliver advanced topics that broaden their knowledge base, in addition to their horizons.
The program we are developing will assist in delivering more knowledge to them, as well as more options for their futures.
My Project
Students build prosthetic hands, but it is hard to cut the cardboard with scissors. The key rings are used to pull the tendons for the prosthetics. In the electrical unit the students were so excited about wiring an LED to a battery and then soldering some of the connections, but there weren't enough supplies for everyone to have a turn because of covid safety measures. With these additional supplies, we will go back to the electrical unit so others can all have the hands on experience of soldering and wiring. Thanks so much for supporting our classroom!
