This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are some of the best people I know. They are caring, introspective, curious, and tenacious when it comes to our learning community. They surprise me everyday with their creativity and ingenuity. I strive to be a person in their lives that can instill in them a love of learning, skills and a variety of ways to build knowledge, and empowerment to grow as much as they want to, and they are always asking to do more Science work!
My Project
In a Montessori classroom, students learn from real examples and hands on manipulation of materials, both natural and manmade. When equipment is old and/or difficult to use, it creates barriers to gaining insights and knowledge, as well as being a deterrent to exploration.
With a microscope that has a digital display students can view prepared specimen as well as collected specimen with ease.
The slide sets compliment Montessori lessons about the Animal Kingdoms, Animal and Plant Cells, and invisible life all around us. With a variety of vessels, we can bring measurement to life, and also have proper supplies to conduct experiments.
