My students need biographies to learn about famous people. The poster board, paper, markers, and buttons will give my students the supplies needed to create a final product of the person they learn about.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic third grade learners. Most are 8 or 9 years old. They want to learn as much as possible and soak up every opportunity to do so. My students are kind and respectful kids. They are a diverse group with varying strengths and needs. Many do not have appropriate leveled reading materials at home. Most of my students are nearing grade level expectations or at grade level. It is important to keep them engaged and progressing forward!
My Project
The biography books will give my students reading materials to learn about someone of their choosing. Each student will research and learn about an influential person in American History. Then, each student will write a report and create a life like person to represent the person they chose.
This project will make learning about influential people fun and meaningful.
The students will use the poster board art supplies to create their person. We will invite other classes to visit the student work and my students will teach others about the influential people in history. This will be a great learning opportunity in which students will be active readers, creative, and collaborative.
