Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I need your help to assist my students on a lifelong journey of learning.
I teach first grade at an public school in Boston, MA.
The school serves students of many different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. All of my students speak another language at home and many are recent immigrants. These students are eager to learn and are already thinking about their future education. I am amazed by the passion they have for learning and you can help them meet their potential.
Unfortunately, our school does not have the resources that we need to give the students the tools that can help them discover their own promise. That is where you come in. By donating to this project, you will help a group of children have access to the resources that many of us take for granted.
My Project
I need your help to get math and reading games for my classroom. The math games help my students gain fluency in math facts and have fun while they are doing it! Many of my students need to practice facts and these games are perfect to engage them as well. There are flashcards to help with facts as well as bingo which is fun for everyone! Sight Word Bingo is a great way to practice words that do not follow common word patterns. I can't emphasize enough just how important games are to learning. These fun activities will help students learn and enjoy it!
