I want to guarantee that all my students are successful in and out of the classroom. I realize we are in the digital age, but I am still old school and like students to pre-write and complete rough drafts before using a computer. I have the privilege of having students for a two period block. This really gives me a chance to get to know them better and focus on their needs. I want each student to have a binder to keep their writing items organized.
In addition, my students are bright, hard working, kind and are compassionate.
I have numerous students with individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504s. These students come from a variety of backgrounds and situations. I want to be able to provide my students all necessary items to reach success.
My Project
Currently, my students keep all of their materials in a plastic sleeve and I hold onto them in a binder. Because about 50% of my students have some type of learning support- holding onto their work has been helpful in keeping their stuff organized.
I want to provide each student with a binder to keep their writing sleeves organized.
By starting off the school year teaching students to organize their materials in one area, it will help them to be successful. In addition, storing materials in my classroom will save time for those students who tend to misplace items frequently.
