My students need to have their classwork in one spot, having a binding machine will allow me to create notebooks with premade pages for them to use all year.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 7th and 8th graders are strong willed students. They have minds of their own but are still willing to get hugs from their teachers. Many of them are below level. When I get them, the students do not know basic social studies skills. Many of them do not know how to use a dictionary to their advantage, nor do they understand basic map skills.
My school is the safe place for the majority of my students.
The school is a newer building, but we do not have enough working computers in each classroom.
My Project
My students are consistently losing their classwork/ homework because they cannot afford the supplies they need. Having a binding machine will allow me to create a social studies notebook they can use the entire year. It will have premade pages of their daily in class work for the entire year.
It will help them in the future with success in high school and college because they will know how to work independently.
Students must know how to read a syllabus and be able to complete work on their own when they get to college, using the binding machine will help me teach my students how to achieve this.
