My Students

I teach at a brand new school this year. We are a unique school. We are an alternative school, therefore we service students from all over the county. This is the first year that our school has been in operation. We are a K-5 school. Since we have students that come from all over our county, we have a very diverse set of students and needs. There is no typical day at our school.

Our main goal at our school, is to help students learn how to better control their feelings.

We also teach academics, but we focus on behavior also.

My Project

My students need a binding machine and the materials that go with it, due to the fact that we do not have workbooks in our school. I print all the materials and put them into a three ringed binder for the students to use. We have a lot of trouble with the pages falling out and them losing very important material.

The binding machine will help my students when we review for state testing and other things brought to us by our county.

I would also like for the students to be able to use the machine and the material to build a behavior binder for them to take back to their home school when they go. I only have my students for a semester usually and then they transition back to their regular school. I want the students to be able to make a memory book as well for them to take back to their home school.
