I need one inch binders for each teacher, so we can keep materials from professional developments organized (standards, teaching strategies, ideas, etc.).

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing. I wish I could provide them with all the supplies, materials, and essentials this world has to offer. I want them to be successful not only in my Common Core Math 1 classroom but also in their future. Although we have just begun the school year I can already sense that this year is going to be remarkable.
There will be great math puzzles, activities, and games that challenge students to think and go further than they ever thought possible.
I will challenge the quiet students to speak up and voice their opinions, because what they have to say matters. I will challenge the problem solvers to come up with explanations and justifications using words. I will challenge those with little math confidence to not be afraid of making mistakes and to always ask questions.
My Project
Teaching is the art of continued learning. We encourage student growth and learning while working on our own professional development and learning. This year I had the opportunity to be one of the three Instruction Specialists that not only attended professional development sessions off campus but also prepared presentations for our own site and supported teachers throughout the year. One of my observations is that providing teachers with handouts and information sheets is not always effective. Similarly, giving teachers access to multiple electronic folders with tools for teaching is ineffective.
Binders can be a way to hold teachers accountable for not only knowing the information, but also for using it in their classrooms.
Binders with the most essential information can simplify our professional development down to key elements of what needs to be learned. It can allow for open discussion of ideas and learning.
