Mrs. Speller from Columbus OH is requesting Classroom Basics through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Bind It All Up!

My students need the ability to have well rounded units in the classroom! By having a coil binding machine, like the Tru Binding Coil Binding Machine, I will be able to create specific units & workbooks!

My Students

My classroom is a intervention space for students who have unique academic needs. I have individual academic plans for each student, as they all learn differently. My students learn best when using a variety of out-of-the-box methods, covering all three styles of learning, auditory, visual, and tactile. We are constantly finding new and creative ways to help them be their best selves.

KIPP continues to serve the kids who need US most.

All of our students receive free meals, over 90% are students of color, and just over 15% are special needs students. 49% Academics and 51% Character is what our KIPPsters represent!

My Project

This project is something that will be used regularly in our classroom all year long! We are unique learners who have difficulty fitting the mold of a traditional curriculum, so as their teacher, I make everything! Binding can get expensive, so this will cut down on my costs and teach my students a great life skill!

As a class, we often dive deep into our units and build all the materials to fit the individual needs of my learners.

Buy donating towards the cost of a binding machine and supplies, you are helping a teacher create just what her students need!!! The lamination sheets and back covers will help my students from destroying the individually designed books too quickly. The binding machine will live in our classroom and be used to create individualized books for their specific skills. By having all their materials in one place, the students will be able to find and keep track of not only the practice work, but also mini-posters and project pieces. The less time that is spent finding missing sheets is more time learning! Finally, the different size bindings selected will give us the freedom to create units of various lengths and therefore different thicknesses.

This binding machine was specifically chosen as one that is not only high quality, but one that my students would be able to use themselves. In our classroom, we are very big on independence and taking equal part in our learning.
