Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are funny, energetic, dedicated, lovable, and hardworking. We are no strangers to challenges but together we face and overcome them as a family.
I am a second-year third grade bilingual teacher at a Title I school in Richardson, SD, in where I serve about 22 students who are all economically disadvantaged.
My third graders all come to me from different backgrounds and walks of life. They are naturally curious, passionate, and love to learn. They take risks, confront challenges, and most of all always come to school eager to work hard no matter the struggles they faced at home or the day before. I am privileged to watch them grow, work and develop skills every single day!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
One of the large carpets will be placed in the front of the classroom and the other in our library next to our class pet: Luis the Lizard.
The fun pillows will be placed in the futon that is already in the classroom library. The highlighters will be used to walk students through the analyzation process of a reading passages. The new headphones will replace the current 8 outdated headphones that have missing parts and are a little too tight.
