Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from different parts of Latin America, but they have one thing in common; they all love to read.
During guided reading, my students perform different chores.
Some students might be in charged of asking questions about what they just read , some of clarifying unknown vocabulary, or predicting what will happen next in the story, etc. My students take their job very seriously. To continue motivating them to read I need books for our classroom library.
My Project
Improving my classroom library will provide access to engaging reading material, which will motivate my students. My students will gain valuable communication skills, as a result of book talks, share reading, also for after school tutorials.
I want them to have a passion for reading. My students need books to improve literacy including The Lightning Thief, Sea of Monsters, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Improving my classroom library will provide access to engaging reading material, which will motivate my students.
The results I would like to achieve are:
1. Better English communication skills.
2. Mastery of language. They will gain a better grasp of the fundamentals of the English language.
3. More logical thinking skills.
4. Enhanced concentration and discipline. Having material at their independent reading levels would grab my student’s attention, improving their reading comprehension.
