Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Bilingual books and hands-on lab equipment will provide transitional kindergarten students with meaningful opportunities to develop language, literacy, and early STEM skills. Dual-language texts support both English learners and native Spanish speakers by strengthening vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence in both languages while promoting inclusion and cultural connection. Hands-on science materials foster curiosity, observation, and problem-solving through engaging, play-based learning experiences.

Lakeshore science viewers give young children a hands-on way to explore the world, which is especially important in TK classrooms.

These tools spark curiosity by allowing students to observe objects up close, helping them notice details they might otherwise miss. This strengthens early observation and inquiry skills—key foundations for science learning.

The Lakeshore Toddler Science Center will provide our young learners with meaningful, hands-on opportunities to explore foundational STEM concepts through play. With interactive tools that encourage observing, experimenting, and problem-solving, students will build critical thinking skills while naturally developing curiosity about the world around them. Together, these resources create an interactive and supportive classroom environment where students actively participate, build oral language, make real-world connections, and develop a strong foundation for future academic success in both language and science.
