Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school every day ready to learn! While their families are supportive and involved in their learning, they are unable to support our class financially. All of my students qualify for free lunch. Our classroom is bilingual. Students are mastering academic concepts in both their home language, Spanish, and in English. This makes it especially important that every moment of the day is filled not just with learning, but with conversation! I want my students to question, observe, and discuss at work and at play.
My Project
We are a Spanish Bilingual classroom and we love to read in Spanish and English. We have a lot of these books in Spanish and adding the books in English will be a great addition to our classroom library!
These books will help support our English Language Development.
These books will help increase our English vocabulary and help with our English storybook language. I will use these books to reinforce that Spanish and English are very similar and that both languages equally important.
These books will keep students engaged because they have really captivating pictures. The books I've selected will help create a classroom cultural of bilingual readers.
