Help me give my students SPACE! We have been getting 1-2 new kids per week, and my supply stations need to be turned into student desks. Rolling carts will now hold supplies, and also, we need supplies!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My little first graders are funny, sweet, and eager to learn. They love to read, write, and sing. They are learning to act like a classroom family, and are amazing at including everyone in play. My "littles" are going to grow up and change the world!
My school is in a low income area, and most of my kids come from fantastic, loving families who are struggling to make ends meet.
We have several students this year who are refugees, and help make our class a much more fun place to be! We are a diverse group, and we celebrate our differences in language and culture.
My Project
Since the school year started, we have been getting new students left and right! (This week we got 3 new kids!) I have reached the point where I need to turn my supply stations (desks where supplies are within reach) into student desks.
Rolling carts will free up desks and keep supplies easily available for the kids to reach.
New students will receive a new pack of crayons, like their peers did on the first day of school. Some packs of writing paper will keep us writing for a while, and some new reading games will give us more to do during stations time. Clip boards will give kids a chance to take their work and move to a slightly less crowded part of the room if/when they feel too squished.
I know this request is a mix of many things, but we are approaching 50 kids (two classes- not one!) and I am running out of everything... and it is only October!
