Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 19 energetic five and six-year-olds each day in a building full of kindergarteners. They come eager to learn and it is my job to be sure they have the materials to do that. Our school is very diverse, over 50% are English language learners, and over 70% come from low-income families. Reaching such a diverse group each year is a challenge.

These families have little to no resources at home for their children.

It is important to provide all I can to help each student achieve their potential. I would love to be able to send supplies home that would enrich their learning experience.

My Project

This amazing space is sure to be a huge hit in my Kindergarten classroom! My students have a special time daily where they “shop” for books they are interested in. This set includes new spots to hold all of the books in our classroom library as well as a unique, inviting area for them to enjoy the books they choose. Creating a fun learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. I know this project will play a huge role in the reading success of my students.
