My students need a PlayStation 4 console and a digital camera as rewards.

My kids are survivors. Many live in poverty and experience traumatic events early in life that affects their development both cognitively and emotionally. They are sweet kids who have families who love them but don't have a lot of the things they need.
My kids are fighters and are capable of great things.
My goal with my DonorsChoose.org project is to give them the tools to break the cycle of poverty they were born into. Won't you please help me?
Every school has to participate in statewide testing. As you can imagine, this isn't something kids really get excited about. However, these tests are becoming more and more important for schools and students. Michigan adopted a 3rd-grade reading law that will mean if kids don't pass their 3rd-grade reading test, they will have to repeat the grade.
We want to encourage our students to try their best this spring and show how much they've grown!
Our students have worked SO HARD this school year and have already shown tremendous growth in their reading and math skills. We want to reward our students who have high test scores, but more importantly, the students who've done the hard work and made leaps and bounds in their education.
The items we've requested are things our students have told us themselves they would like to receive as a prize for outstanding achievement. Things like the requested digital camera and PS4 console. These are things our kids may not have access to at home, and have told us would be great external motivation for testing incentives.
We welcome you to help us give our kids some perks for doing their best.
