My Students

My students are vibrant and curious humans who are just learning what it means to advocate for themselves, to challenge authority, and to demand an excellent education. They are dreamers. They are unafraid. They are beginning to understand what it means to be an active member of society and they are beginning to understand the injustices that take place in our community.

My students have learned to start small, but dream big.

Our school environment is less than ideal, but my students refuse to settle for anything less than excellence, so we continue asking questions and continue growing our knowledge despite the odds stacked up against us.

My Project

My classroom does not have a smart board or any type of interactive whiteboard. That means that when I project slideshows, play Kahoot!, or show video clips, I must use an outdated projector with poor image quality. This makes it hard for many students to see, and it impedes learning. I've found that slide decks keep my lessons on pace, and allow me to fully prepare for instruction by scripting out directions, providing relevant information, and displaying student progress.

This project will make lessons more engaging by making my slide decks crystal clear, and by making it possible for everyone to see the board.

The stand will allow me to freely move the screen around the room, and the TV will allow me to display instructional slide decks to capture the attention of students!
