Big Learning with Little House

My students need 18 My First Little House books to enhance our unit on pioneers.

Big Learning with Little House books will occur in my classroom with the donation of the "My First Little House" books series! I teach 43 Third Graders Reading/Writing at a Title I elementary. Each year we complete the novel Little House in the Big Woods. This is a fun unit that both my boys and my girls are excited about! We compare and contrast pioneer times with modern times. What an addition these "My First Little House" books will make to our unit! Students will get to see illustrations in these books, learn more about the various activities of pioneers, and most importantly, continue their learning and exploration of pioneer times! The "My First Little House" books would allow my lower level readers to read independently, while allowing my gifted and talented students more in depth information on a variety of pioneer topics. Big learning will happen with the Little House books! What a fabulous opportunity you have to help my students become more engaged in a topic they are already excited about!
