My Students

My students are a part of a new program in our middle school that seeks to reengage the disengaged learner through growing their self-awareness and self-advocacy skills. They are bright, capable leaders, and are highly energetic!

They need to wiggle and move and don't get enough opportunities throughout the day to meet that need.

They are drawn to the tools I have that allow them to move and we're working to make school a place that these students feel they belong regardless of their background, past academic achievement, or past engagement.

My students are curious, strong, and have lots to share, but sometimes their need to move gets in the way of their focus and learning.

My Project

My 7th and 8th grade students don't often get the movement they need to help their brains stayed focused and engaged in the learning happening in their classes. They don't have physical education class every day and at this level of schooling, we don't have regular recess time, but my students still need a way to release the energy they have.

The wobble seats I requested will support their need to move, will strengthen their cores helping to ignite their brains, and will support their engagement in the learning.

These tools will be available to students each day in class, and they will have choice about what might best support their learning needs.
