Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in a community that had suffered a lot with COVID and the loss of family members. A lot of my students are dealing with grief and we usually do a lot of art projects to understand these feelings. They also come from many different cultural backgrounds and love to see a representation of their race, ethnicity, language, culture. I am building a safe space for the sharing of these big feelings in my mental health office inside the school, so students learn coping skills to deal with emotions and be in their best self to learn.
