Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are determined, engaging, motivated and resilient. At a school where 90% of students receive free lunch being exposed to new opportunities is important. Students often are not able to express themselves emotionally more so now in this pandemic.

My Project

Since the pandemic we have seen students with a lot of “big emotions “ in the classroom. However the are unable to express themselves. Through film making students will be able to learn what they are feeling emotionally and communicate it through film. The iPads will be used for students to learn what to do when they have “big emotions “. Working together they will learn empathy, collaboration and understanding differences. Which not only makes them better citizens but allows them to deal with emotions positively to engage in learning.
