This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Hi, I am now teaching a group of 2nd and 3rd grade "Explorers" this year. They are an awesome group of students. It is so rewarding to be able to experience their growth as students and individuals.
I not only teach at a Title I school, but my students are here due to behaviors, agressions, and lack of social-emotional skills.
In their short lives, they have experienced so much trauma. This doesn't make them a charity case, but they still have needs. They come from different homes and backgrounds. Most of the kids don't know how it feels to blow out the candles on their very own birthday cake.
I always want to help them to have things that is found in a typical school setting, so I fund alot of things out of my pocket. Our school usually gets the leftovers, if anything, and they deserve something more. I have taught them that if you positive in, then greatness will come out.
Just imagine their confidence in themselves and their abilities being transformed, knowing that we all care for them. That is why I need your help. Will you help me, please.
My Project
Most of my students come to me extremely behind ( 2 or more grade levels), and it is my goal to have various tools to meet my learners where they are right now. My students crave both knowledge and structure. It is crucial to understand how a student learns, so I determine each of my students learning styles and their 'true color'. This is necessary and critical so I can engage them in a positive way. This is why I have asked for social games and tools, as well as, academic.
These items that I am asking for will give me some tools that I do not currently possess to help give my students the courage to learn in a fun way.
It allows them the freedom to start where they are right now. In my classroom, each of my students have permission to make mistakes and to support one another through their journey. Because of this, it means they are learning and growing. So, by supporting our classroom, you will helping me clear their path to success.
