I spend my days with 20 fabulous fourth graders. The love they have for reading warms my heart and it is one of my many missions to foster this passion for reading. My students devour books. They love classics as much as the latest release.
You know they are hooked when you hear a gasp or a chuckle from a reader in the middle of reading workshop or read aloud.
My students love finding new favorites and sharing them with their peers. They are truly remarkable and inspire me daily to find the next great book to share.
My Project
Getting lost in a book is one of life's many pleasures. It is my hope to inspire and foster a love for reading in my fourth graders through book clubs, read aloud, and independent reading. I hope to do this by exposing them to time-tested classics, as well as the latest new releases. To ensure all students have accessible books, a classroom library must have a wide range of reading levels and genres.
By donating to this project you will support students in their journey of becoming life-long readers.
I currently rely on a collection of books that was established over 30 years ago. Many of the books in the collection are well-loved and in need of replacing. The collection is also in dire need of an update. Adding fresh titles to the collection will certainly inspire readers to pick up a book, give it a try, and hopefully get lost in its pages.
