Our students here in Boise, Idaho participate in an integrated learning environment focused on personalized learning and civic responsibility.
In 5th grade students are learning CCSS Math and ELA, and US History.
Students participate in projects and group work that require collaborative work space. Movement based teaching strategies are used so that students are engaged and excited about learning.
Having the proper equipment will enhance students opportunities to lead their own learning, and increase the level of excitement and engagement.
My Project
Currently the classroom set up is traditional desks and chairs. This set up is great for teacher-centered direct instruction, but not so easy to gather students in collaborative group spaces. With the group table, flexible seating options, and standing desk for instructional technology from this Donors Choose, the classroom space will transform into a student-centered, collaborative, and engaging environment.
Our best growth comes from working together to achieve a common goal and the selected materials will allow us to work together in a more cooperative environment.
