My students are the most amazing individuals. I really wish you could meet them. They are so full of personality! They embrace learning in such a way that I would be proud to invite anyone in our room to engage in the process.
These kiddos are so appreciative and eager to try new things and solve new problems.
Learning to read in first grade can be challenging and frustrating at times. I try to differentiate my lessons so all learners can succeed. I love to make it fun for the students.
I want them to run through their front door at the end of the day excited to share their day at school! I love to greet excited, smiling faces every morning!
My Project
The CVC Word Work Center, Twist and Turn 3-Letter Word Builders, Fishing for Sight Words, and I Can Build Simple Words helps early readers build phonemic awareness and become for fluent readers. These hands-on learning games provide students with the opportunity to build words. Sounding out simple 3-letter words is a reading strategy that helps students become more fluent readers. Identifying sight words is also a strategy to build more fluent readers. Students should know basic sight words automatically without having to apply any reading strategies. These games will be used as practice during Daily 5 and in a small group setting with me.
