Better Storage for a Better Orchestra and Band Classroom!
Help me give my students optimal storage that is within reach and at the front of the classroom! We have a small classroom, which is a shared space between the band teacher and myself.
I am an orchestra teacher, and I teach a wonderful group of 3-5th string students! My students are fantastic to work with, all working very hard every day to achieve their musical goals. We have a lot of fun in the classroom making music together! One of my favorite things to do with my students is to connect with them, and to build relationships. Building relationships has also been incredibly important with our student population. I always want my students to know I am there for them, not just as their orchestra teacher, but as a mentor and a trusted adult. My kids are very bright and kind!
My Project
My students and I share our orchestra space with band. It is a small room to begin with, which does not provide optimal space for storage. After making some measurements, it seems this item would fit perfectly at the front of the room, next to my desk, and also next to or under the whiteboard!
Right now, I have things stacked above a cabinet, where only I can reach.
These are useful supplies for instruments that my students could easily access on their own without my reach. I also like my space to be nice and neat, and so a lot of the storage we already have appears to be more cluttered. This item would be the perfect height and width for my students to access materials such as extra sponges, rosin, and music. I can also store some other items in the cubbies, or even throw in some decorations because there are so many cubbies included!
