This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is an enthusiastic, motivated group of learners who attend a Title 1 school and qualify for free/reduced lunch. Many students come from low income households. Budget cuts have affected the class personally because they only have access to the librarian once per week.

Every student participates in a curriculum of science, technology, art, engineering and math (STEAM).

STEAM education is essential to expand their capacity for critical thinking. My students need high quality STEAM activities. By having these materials, I am hopeful to inspire my class on a path to academic success with high quality STEAM materials and actiivites to enhance the learners' success.

My Project

STEM activities/materials will provide my students with the necessary skills to be equipped with the tools and knowledge to be problem solvers who work together in class to analyze solutions and draw conclusions. Future generations need these vital critical thinking skills in science, technology, engineering and math to gain experience and knowledge for a future career in a STEM profession. It is vital that students have access to quality STEM learning activities so they can work as collaborative partners to help close the achievement gap. Students need the exposure and practice with STEM projects and experiments. All materials in this STEM activity kit will accomplish these goals.
