We are a large, urban high school. Over 70% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch and a large majority will be the first in their family to go to college.

Through our committed counseling staff, creative college and career staff, and dedicated administration, our students are encouraged to find their post-secondary fit.
Our students are ready to take the driver's seat and move toward their future. We are building the student-focused programming to support their aspirations.
My Project
On May 4, our school will celebrate college signing day. Surrounded by friends and school staff, the Class of 2018 will pledge their post secondary “next step.” The goal of this project is to celebrate our students' path while creating community excitement around their plans.
On signing day, the Class of 2018 will be invited to a celebration of their future.
The events will take place adjacent to the cafeteria during lunchtime so our underclassmen are able to see the seniors celebrating their future. Several of the items requested for this project will enhance the logistics for the event. The mini pennants will be used to decorate the table that will hold our signing banner. The photo booth props will be used for pictures taken after the seniors sign their college intent. Students will tweet their photos with the hashtags #BetterMakeRoom, #ReachHigher, and #WayneAimsHigh.
Participating seniors will be entered into a raffle for prizes including the Chromebook requested, mini-fridge, books, college gear, and free prom tickets.
