My school is an extremely diverse place. At the beginning of the year, we offered full distance learning for parents who were unsure of in-person learning. That being said, I volunteered for this journey with 45 amazing, determined, and intelligent students!
All of my students have something that makes them extremely unique.
One of my students is a dancer, and whenever we play music to recharge our batteries will jump up and boogie with us on her computer. Another of my students is starting a business and I love having her tell the other students about her quest as an entrepreneur to energize her classmates, all the while meeting state standards. One of my boys loves hermit crabs, and so I give him time to tell the other students about these creatures. Several of my students are bilingual, speaking Spanish and Hindu. I have two students who lived in Africa, one being an immigrant, who tell the class about their home and the language there.
That being said, there is one thing that brings all of us together: learning! They devour knowledge and continually pose questions to further their learning, even with tech and wifi problems!
My Project
The dividers will allow me to track parent and student communication with more organization and effectiveness.
The Dell Monitor will most definitely help my students out.
Right now, I don't have enough room to show my whole group work while being able to see my students' faces. Another monitor will allow me to informally assess students by reading their faces, along with me being able to bond even more with them. The more I know will allow me to focus in on weaknesses and not only rely on formal assessments.
