My Project

Third grade can be such a magical year for reading! Students are going from learning to read to reading to learn. One of my jobs is to reach far and wide for an array of books to help them explore and enhance their reading experiences.

The books I chose are tried and true.

The wacky and somewhat magical lives of the Wayside School characters engage all students. In How to Steal a Dog, Georgina and her family's battles with homelessness help students learn empathy and for some, help understand many families have the same struggles they do! These are books I use for read alouds but it would be amazing if they could read along as well. Creating another chance to engage in literacy.

I have also asked for some odds and ends of supplies I never have enough of. Sticky notes, big and small. Markers and bookmarks. These items are well loved and well used!
