This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year, my 19 besties are thriving in the area of literature! They get excited about characters in book and how they can relate to them. They enjoy learning how a characters' feelings can change throughout a book. Reading to them is a delight and joy everyday. They are at the age where reading will be ingrained in them as one of the best things they can do!
My Project
Centers make the elementary classroom go round. In this project I hope to provide new literacy and math centers for my 19 besties and even future besties!
Without centers, I cannot pull students who need a little extra help, or work with students who are gifted.
Two different times throughout my day, students work independently at centers. Students look forward to centers Every. Single. Day. They think they are getting free play, but in all actually they are learning, but also playing. It is a win/win really. I get to complete my work with students at my small group table, while the others are learning, but also learning how to work with different members of their class family.
Help me give my students to the opportunity to work and play independently.
