Bending Time for a Good Time

My sculpture project needs a supply of 2 types of metal wire.

We are a high poverty school. Most of our children eat free lunches and go home to less than adequate home lives. They are all high need students with ADD, ADHD, Asbugers, Autism, and OCD.

The obstacle the children face is that there is no money for the art department. They have been painting boxes and making things with things we find. They really want to make some cool metal wire sculptures because we've been studying cool sculpture artists and they are inspired! For these students making things that are tactile and movable is very good therapy for them, for their social skills as well as physically.

The resources we need are basically wires to bend; the students will do the rest! They will receive a lot of therapy bending the wire with their hands and working together to create these. They will learn social skills by sharing tools too.

These students are so encouraged by people who give to them. It's amazing for them to see people who don't even know them caring for them because it's very rare for them to be cared for. By supporting a small thing you will be doing a great thing.
