Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Fifth graders might seem intimidating to teach, but they are really just big kids. They are so fun to be around and even more fun to teach. This is my first year teaching fifth grade. I have quickly learned that fifth graders still love to be read to.
I am in need of engaging books that grab my students' attention and are interesting to read.
As I have taught multiple skills this year, I have noted many books that would be helpful to teach certain topics such as figurative language, point of view, parts of speech, etc. It would also be handy to have books for promoting topics like kindness, helpfulness, respectfulness, etc.
I teach a multicultural classroom of 26 students in each of 4 periods a day. These books would be used by hundreds, even thousands of students over the years to come.
