I teach in a Title I school in North Carolina and many of my students are at risk of academic failure. This is many of my students' first time in a school setting. The early learners in my class are more interested in the process of discovering and manipulating materials than the final products of their experiments.
Learning experiences are meaningful and relevant for every child and reflect his or her developmental, cultural, and individual circumstances.
My students love to move and be active. However, because of recent budget cuts, we are unable to purchase additional resources such as the ones requested.
Every year we celebrate by having a Polar Express Day! We love the Polar Express movie in our classroom. We work on activities that go along with the book and at the end of the week, we watch the movie. In pre-k, we decorate the classroom to make this week memorable. The golden train tickets will make the students fell the can all ride THE POLAR EXPRESS. To make this a memorable journey when the hot chocolate is served in the movie we like to serve the children at the same time! My student will be able to believe the magic this story promotes!
It is magical to see the happiness on the children's faces!
The hot chocolate, bells, and props are all necessary components for this special event. Without your help, I will not be able to bring this project to life this year. We are counting on donations to make this special day a reality.
