My Students

Currently housing 260 in-person students, our PK – 2 Dual Language Center is in a high poverty district and 100% of our students receive free breakfasts and lunches. In addition to learning typical curricular subjects like ELA and math, in both Spanish and English, our thriving students have also been learning Music, Library, Computer, Art, PE, and Social-Emotional skills such as Self – Management, Social Management and Awareness, Responsible Decision Making, and Relationship Building. Combined, these classes and skills encourage and provide our young learners with a foundation to be at their best, how to regulate, and how to motivate themselves.

We are multicultural, live in a rough, low economic, urban-suburban setting, and you'd never know it.

They face life's challenges daily and approach school not as a chore like many students do, but as a way to see friends, teachers who care about them personally and professionally, and as a way to better themselves. I'm lucky to have them in my life.

My Project

Our soft-spoken, young students will WANT to speak, eagerly anticipating the QBall+ Throwable Microphone being tossed to them. Learning how to ask and answer questions can be better taught. Teachers will be able to facilitate and teach students how to hold a conversation with each other. Dialog can better happen. Classroom discussions will be ENHANCED. Classroom teachers and students can and will benefit. This will all be made possible with the aid of the USB, QBall+ Throwable microphone.

Students and staff alike will actually be able to HEAR each other.
