Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series. My students share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books in their favorite series. My students are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to discover the newest adventures in their favorite book series.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies among them.
I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each of their needs are met. They are truly a remarkable group and I am very lucky and thankful to have a new group of wonderful learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place that my students really enjoy-I encourage individuality and tolerance for other people. Every book about diversity that is placed in my students' hands are treated with love and care and they are thankful for the opportunities to read and grow as responsible people. This book has been chosen with my students, and the world they live in, in mind.
With these books my students will be able to read this as a novel study and gain the confidence they need to be themselves in a world of turmoil.
The best way to increase reading ability and diversity is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
