Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are engaged, motivated, and thoughtful learners! They come from diverse cultures residing in the area of Buena Park, California. These students live in a low-income/high poverty school district. Each child in my classroom loves to learn, although the method and the environment in which they learn best vary greatly. I incorporate many different learning strategies in my classroom to meet the differing styles of learning that help my students thrive. These kids inspire me daily to be the best teacher I can be!
My Project
A goal of first grade is building reading stamina in students. When students are comfortable, they will read more. I want to offer flexible seating to my students during reading time to promote more reading. During this period, I can meet with students individually or in small groups to specifically tailor instruction to meet each child's individual learning needs. The Flex Space Comfy Floor Seats will provide a longer time without interruption for me to work with students individually.
Every student deserves the undivided attention of their teacher!
When other students are comfortable and engaged, it provides more time for me to devote to small groups, pairs, and individual students.
