Help me give my students block materials that will give them multiple opportunities to use their creative imaginations, as well as respecting and appreciating other cultures.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a lively and joyful bunch! We begin every day with a morning message and a daily affirmation. Each day is rounded out with an afternoon meeting in which we review what they have learned, what occurred, and what we're excited to tell our families.
I teach kindergarten in a 21st-century school in Baltimore.
Many of my students' families receive public assistance for housing, communication services, transportation, and food. Our school provides food for those families who need extra assistance. Students also receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite several hardships, my students faithfully attend classes excited about the day's events. They want to be in school and I want to instill a love of learning in their hearts and minds that will stick with them for a lifetime.
My Project
Block areas play a major role in students' development. With these materials accessible in the classroom, my students will learn how to problem solve, express themselves, use their creativity and imagination, as well as progressing within their science, literacy and math skills. The materials will also provide engagement opportunities in a multicultural educational classroom that will help them learn how to appreciate and respect cultures, as well as their own. These materials will also help my students learn the concept of how to make new friends through progressing in their social and emotional development. Please help me provide my students with the materials that will help them succeed and progress through life.
