Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Students
My students are an amazingly diverse and creative bunch of kiddos. Even in the midst of a pandemic, they remain engaged and excited about learning. Not only are they immersed in the learning that takes place in both the on-campus or online environment, they are also supportive of their peers and of myself. These are THE MOST tech savvy bunch of 7th graders I have ever known and the grace that they continue to show to both their peers and of me, amazes me.
I would love to show my scholars how much I truly appreciate their patience, encouragement, and engagement during these unprecedented times.
My Project
As a Title I school, many of my students struggle to be successful, not for a lack of engagement or excitement, but because of the financial strain their families face. I want to be able to provide the supplies and tools necessary for my scholars to be successful. Having a computer in my classroom will allow me to customize lessons as needed and print without worry. My school as a printer that is shared with over 100+ teachers and we often run out of supplies before school even starts. I don't want the circumstances that my campus face to affect my students overall academic success or zeal for learning. In addition, many of my online students live in chaotic environments, not conducive to learning. For this reason, I believe headphones with mics will allow them to cancel out distractions at home and focus on the lesson so that they can both hear, participate, and grow. Anything you can do to help me pore into these scholars, would be immensely appreciated.
