Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a Special Education teacher in a classroom with students who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My students struggle in the areas of social, emotional, and behavior skills.
My goal is for their classroom to be a safe place where they can grow educationally and feel comfortable to be themselves.
My students have a lot of potential and love for education. I would love for you to join in on my mission to keep my students love for education.
My Project
I’m asking for funding for supplies to create social stories for my students. We use social stories on a daily basis and my students benefit greatly from it! I would like to get funding for a printer, a laminator, and binding machine as well as paper to create them on so they are visually appealing and sturdy. Social stories help my students by getting direct instruction on social skills and what to do in a social situation. Due to their disability, my students can lack the natural responses to social situations and need direct instruction - funding this project will help me help them!
