My students need various types of paper to make the learning environment interesting and basic supplies such as pencils, glue sticks, and dry erase markers.
I have to say this is one of the most amazing group of second graders that I have ever had the opportunity to teach. They are always eager to learn.
They enter the classroom with smiles on their faces every day, even when their night or morning didn't go so well.
They push through the day and take on anything that comes their way. My students live in a rural community in Tennessee. Our school is a Title I school that serves close to 1,000 students in PreK-4.
My Project
The students in my class are a wonderful group of children. They love to learn and come to school excited. Many of those students begin the year lacking basic supplies to complete assignments. My students are always generous and share with others, however, every student is proud to have their own personal supplies. This project will make sure that every student has the basic materials needed to begin the year prepared with the essentials of learning.
I would like to have every student in my room begin with the basics.
The chart paper will provide students with a way to display group work such as the different strategies used to solve word problems or research about a non-fiction topic. Colored paper will allow us to have centers to practice math and reading skills. This project would also ensure that basic supplies could be replenished throughout the school year. We use pencils, glue sticks, and dry erase markers daily during our small group and independent work.
