My class consists of 24 gifted fifth graders. This group presents many challenges when implementing instruction, as they have a higher need for enriching and challenging materials. They are also highly motivated, capable of working independently, and even driving their own instruction. Although predominantly Hispanic, my students come from a wide range of different cultural backgrounds within that spectrum.
As a group, we value and support each other.
We lend an ear when someone needs to speak and we speak out when we have something to say. We are a group; we are a team; we are a family.
Supplies, supplies. Teachers are always in need of something. It seems like we are always short on something, wether it be pencils, storage boxes, or pocket charts. There is always a need in the classroom.
This project aims to tackle the things my students and I require in order for us to run an organized and efficient classroom.
The magnetic paper pockets and folder bins will be used to display and organize student work. Students will benefit from having their work easily accessible and within reach. The magnetic lined page and sentence strips will make it easier for students to write their work on the board when completing examples both in language arts and in math. The reusable write wipe folders will lower our paper consumption and free up clutter.
The lap desks will help with our flexible seating arrangement so that students can have more flexibility of choice in how where they wish to sit while completing work.
With these items, students and teacher alike will be able to thrive in an efficient and organized environment.
