This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This school year comes with so many unknowns. I am currently preparing a completely digital space for my students to begin their fist school experience. While our lessons will be lead through a screen, much of what my students need to learn and grow is hands on and interactive.
Pre-K is such a magical age.
Our children are sponges and learn so much in such little time. It is up to us as teachers to be prepared to provide them with the rich language and information to soak right up!
Our school is a PreK to 8th Grade Elementary School located on Chicago's far South-side. More than 3/4 of our students come from low-income households.
My Project
To help my students start out the year, I will be sending each child a package with all the materials they need for a successful start! I choose these items to ensure my students have both quality virtual education as well as hands on materials to use at home.
Each binder will have the paper and activity packets needed for class.
Students will receive books from my classroom library, markers, crayons, and colored pencils as well.
In addition to the binders and class materials, students will receive snacks and personalized items to help make the beginning of the year more welcoming!
