Begging For The Basics

My students need basic school supplies like pencils, paper, glue sticks, erasers, and highlighters so that they can be successful in school!

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My two groups of students are very energetic and excited to learn. However, over half of my students come from low-income households and must overcome numerous obstacles before they even set foot in the classroom.

I refuse to allow my students' home life to effect their success in the classroom.

My goal as a teacher is to make sure that all of my students get the resources they need in order to become a life long learner. With your help I know we can make a difference!

As a first year English Language Arts and Reading teacher, I can not wait to see my students leap into learning! Each one of my projects is designed to help my students enhance their vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, phonetics, and overall love of reading! Thank you so much for considering my classroom and for being a member of our educational community!

My Project

This project contains the basic school supplies my students use on a daily basis like scissors, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, and wide ruled paper. As a teacher at a Title I school, many of my students can not afford these basic school supplies and we are not provided with any to supply them. Despite the fact that over 75% of my students receive free and reduced lunch and come from low income families, I am determined to get what my students need to have every possible opportunity in the classroom environment.

The absence of basic school supplies in my classroom causes anxiety in my students and I simply can not allow that.

Many of my students already have so much on their minds, the last thing I want them worrying about is the fact that they don't have a pencil or a piece of paper when I'm just excited they came to school! This project will allow me to provide my students with the basic school supplies they will need for the year and take away their worry when they don't have any. I can not wait to share with my amazing students that we now have class sets of supplies for everyone to use! They say it takes a village to raise a child- thank you for supporting our village!
