As a kindergarten teacher in a growing community, I am striving to ensure that my classroom has all of the resources needed for continued success! Kindergarten is such a pivotal year for little learners, and my 22 sweet students have such a love for learning and a curiosity that is unmatched! They come to school with an eagerness and desire to learn and grow. I hope to be able to foster their enthusiasm for learning in their upcoming year as kindergarteners.
My Project
This group of little learners LOVES to read! They beg for reading time, and they love using their book boxes to pick new books. However, our classroom library is severely lacking in the area of leveled books. In kindergarten, our students come into school at vastly different reading levels: some are just beginning to learn letters and sounds, while others are ready to read higher-level books. We want to meet our students wherever they are to help them learn and grow at their own pace. This vast range of range of reading abilities is the exact reason why my students need books at their "just right" reading level.
With the purchase of these leveled book sets, my students will have access to multiple different books that meet their specific learning levels and needs!
As a relatively new teacher (in my second year of teaching) who is still building a classroom library, I have very few leveled books for students to choose from. This project would give my students more books to add to their book boxes, which is what they're always begging for! I cannot wait to see how the addition of these leveled books will enhance the individualized reading growth of my kindergarten students. Thank you for your support!
