Help me give my students the freedom to check out and keep track of my books for enjoyment both at school and at home using the IntelliScanner Classic and it's software system!
My students come from a variety of small rural towns, villages, and locations which can be found in the northernmost district in the state of Michigan. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds which gives them a lot of opportunities to learn from each other.
My students are an energetic group of willing learners who like to be actively involved in their learning.
They are warm hearted, friendly, and helpful kids. I am proud to have been given the opportunity to be their teacher and guide.
My Project
We know that to become readers we must have access to reading materials. Teachers like myself, and caring people like you, have put a lot of time and money into building my classroom library. It it hard to keep track of the books that I lend out for classroom and home use. Sadly, many of my books disappear with no way to track where they have gone, removing those titles from the shelves for other people who would like to enjoy them.
IntelliScanner in my classroom would help me keep track of our classroom library and help our books find their way home again!
It is very frustrating when a child is looking for a specific title and is excited to read a particular book, but it has been borrowed and not returned. I want to see their excitement climb as that special book gets put in their hands!
This tool will also help encourage kids to check out books! What kid wouldn't want to feel the importance of scanning his or her book choices in and out of our library?! (Have you ever seen how popular self checkouts are with little kids?!)
IntelliScanner will also create a list! The students and I will easily be able to access a book list for our room! We've never had this opportunity before! It will also aid me in buying new books for our classroom so I don't waste precious money on buying a title we already own. It will also create a list for me to easily be able to see who is reading what and how long it is taking them to read it. Sometimes learners check out books that aren't quite right for them. IntelliScanner will help me help them into just right books!
