All of my students have been placed in my classroom from across our city who need either social and emotional skill development or have learning deficits which require intense educational interventions. This prevents them from sitting in a regular educational classroom.
Our classroom is a self-contained model with a group of 10 boys ranging from grade 1 through grade 3.
We are from a wide range of socioeconomic areas across the city and I try to support all of the students in citizenship building activities and events.
My Project
Your support will greatly "beef up" our classroom activities and provide a new look and updated supplies to begin our school year for 2013/2014. The current supplies which I am requesting to be replaced are either torn, non-existent, or completely faded. I tried to choose items which are high color, high energy activities such as a Numbers Ring Toss Game and a Classroom Writing Station.
This project is so important because I love my class and the boys have worked so hard and deserve some updated supplies and manipulatives.
As an example, our current morning activities calendar chart has many hand-made replacement pieces with many of the folders held together by duct tape.
