Bee Inspired by Gardening!

Help me give my students gardening materials so they can help with our school garden. We aim to grow a variety of plants and vegetables, but especially lots of flowers for the bees we will be advocating for!

My Project

My 4th graders are an adventurous bunch with a wide variety of interests. One common interest we all have is our curiosity of mother nature. They love science and they love experimenting. They have expressed an interest in the school garden that has currently become a project to revive. Some plants returned a little in the fall and they were out there picking tomatoes, smelling flowers, and coming to me with a lot of gardening questions.

Watching their curiosity grow sparked my own passion for gardening too.

They asked if we could bring the garden back to life and our principal said, "Absolutely!" We will also be BEE Advocates for the Savannah Bee Company's The Bee Cause Project. We will host a honey bee hive in our classroom that will open to our school garden. The students can't wait to study them!

Please help us GROW and LEARN with the necessities for successful gardening! I plan on studying ecosystems, incorporating math with plant measurement data, and even a little art inspiration as we map our way through our STEAM curriculum this spring!
