My Students

Our school's mission is dedicated to fostering students’ natural curiosity for the world we live in and helping instill the desire to protect and nurture our earth. We believe that our environmental magnet focus will promote empathy, confidence, strength in team building, and critical thinking skills. Through our environmental education curriculum and camping program, we are developing strong individuals that are enthusiastic about their role in preserving the planet. Our school motto is “No Child Left Indoors.”

We envision a school where all stakeholders (staff, students, parents, community) will interact and collaborate through positive relationships in our school, community and nature.

Our goal is to have students engaged in an atmosphere that focuses on integrating environmental education into the core curriculum with fidelity. We will continue to change and adapt as life-long learners to meet the different needs of our students with high expectations for all.

My Project

At our school, we strive to support the environment in any way we possibly can. As we looked at ways to expand our environmental magnet focus, we decided to look into ways we could help the bee population flourish since they play a huge role through pollination of many of the plants that we consume. After discussion with a professional beekeeper, we decided to construct a bee apiary on our school grounds which would not only benefit our numerous school gardens but also the farming community around our school.

The beekeeping suits are an important tool our students will be able to use for protection as they learn more about the bee colonies through hands-on experiences while also sharing their new knowledge with others.
